On the morning of August 17, 1984, Darlene Hulse was at home in rural Argos, Indiana with her three young daughters when a stranger came to the door and forced himself on her.
Episode 2: A Stranger’s Wrath
Marie and Melissa Hulse ran to their grandparent’s house nearby and their grandma told police to hurry up and get to Ron and Darlene Hulse’s house where there was an intruder.
Episode 3: The Wooded Path
While search parties look everywhere, an unsuspecting timber buyer happens upon a body in the woods.
Episode 4: They Left Town
Police work their way through dozens of tips and zero in on two suspects, which take detectives from Indiana, Colorado, Alabama and back in order to interrogate the men they thought could be responsible for Darlene’s death.
Episode 5: He’s Gunned Down
A fatal shootout in Texas leads state police to finding bloody clothes and a newspaper clipping about Darlene in the dead man’s Indiana apartment, launching an investigation into him as a serious suspect in her murder.
Episode 6: Evil All Around
Police interview Darlene’s husband and we learn more about her, their relationship and their family’s routines.
